Did you know? Onions were used as a preventive medicine during the era of plague and cholera, as they are an excellent source of Vitamin C, which improves our immune system. Onions are also packed with vitamins and nutrients including potassium, sodium, iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. They provide us with an excellent source of dietary fiber, which aids in proper digestion and regular bowel movements. The folic acid found in onions aids in the prevention of birth defects. The compound Chromium found in onions assist in regulating blood sugars, being very beneficial for woman who suffers from hyperglycemia. It is also known that onion juice relieves pain from burns and insect bites. Lastly, onions, like garlic, are shown to increase bone density. Onions for the win!
