It's 5:30am and I'm headed out to the climbing gym to join my fellow before-sunrise workout comrades. Yes, 5:30am in the dark, rainy morning, but the climbing, circuit training and great company is worth it.
By the end of the session, my tummy is grumbling like a hurricane, and this smoothie brings it back to it's happy place.
2 tablespoons Cashew Coconut butter
2 tablespoons Chocolate Glop
1 ripe banana
1 tablespoon Maca powder
1 cup water
2 tablespoons chia seeds
Coconut shreds, for topping (optional)
Cacao nibs, for topping (optional)
Throw the cashew coconut butter, chocolate glop, banana, maca powder and water in the blender and whirl it all up. Whala! 70 seconds of ear deafening blending later you have smooth yummy goodness.
Pour into a hipster perfect mason jar and mix in the chia seeds. Top with coconut shreds and cacao nibs.
Boss Tip: Prep this the night before so you don't wake up anyone else in the house with the blender in the morning. This also gives you 5 more minutes of beauty sleep before your hardcore booty scoots out the door.
